THEATRE PRODUCING FOR BEGINNERS

Do you have a dream project, but not sure how to get started producing? Want to get your play in front of an audience? Are you participating in your first Nextfest or Fringe or another festival and need a little help? Dream about producing events?

Nextfest is proud to offer our THEATRE PRODUCING FOR BEGINNERS sessions.

The program is two afternoons- each four hours long, to cover the basic steps of theatre and event production including topics such as:
– How do I understand what production model I’m using?
– How do I build a budget?
– How do I apply for funding?
– How do I create contracts and artist agreements?
– How do I create a rehearsal and production schedule?
– How do I tell audiences about my project? –
How do I decide where and how the money should get spent?

And much more!

DATE/TIMES:

Day 1- Saturday, April 13 from noon-4 pm (extra hour afterwards to ask questions or receive feedback)

Day 2- Sunday, April 14 from noon- 4 pm (extra hour afterwards to ask questions or receive feedback)

Day 1- Saturday, April 20 from noon- 4 pm (extra hour afterwards to ask questions or receive feedback)

Day 2- Sunday, April 21 from noon- 4 pm (extra hour afterwards to ask questions or receive feedback)

LOCATION

The Roxy Rehearsal Hall at the Roxy (10708- 124 Street, Edmonton)

Students can attend any combination of the Day 1/ Day 2 classes they choose (some may want to do it all in one weekend, others may want to spread out the learning over two weekends).
