In Well-Versed, poets explore the ways in which they embody themselves, how their lives are lived in their bodies and outside of them, and what it means to ask what a ‘good’ or ‘well’ body is, and what it isn’t, in the world today.
This showcase features a live music performance by Ru.
Ru is a singer-songwriter out of Canada who looks for inspiration from every aspect of life to bring soulful tones to the stories of her own life and the ones of those around her. Ru’s music takes on inspiration from Indie, Neo-soul, Folk-Pop, and R&B music to give her the sound that she has today.

Comedian Cindy Rivers delivers accidentally educational standup comedy, using her quick wit and skillful writing to engage any audience with truth and laughs.
This showcase features a live music performance by JusJrdn.
JusJrdn is an Edmonton-based, hip-hop artist with ambition like no one else. His lyrics and performances are full of emotion and energy, leaving the crowds inspired and vibrating on another level.

iHuman Studios has been focused on providing creative opportunities for young folk in Edmonton since 1997 and has been partnering with Nextfest for over 20 years.
iHuman’s 2022 crop of artists includes a mixed bag of rappers, singers, and spoken word poets, including Jayme The Beast, Amplify1, Javien, Pr$cy The Takeover, Ambyshun, and a performance of a new album by Theadora.
