Shadow State

Fall in-line with the Shadow State as Nextfest marches you into new world order of light and projection. Shadow State is an empire of scratch animations, shadow play, technology glitching, and inter-disciplinary performances. Think duality, light and dark, the ghost in the machine, and hidden impulses.

Shadow State is open to submissions! 

Shadow State will create a space to explore light and shadow. Interpret the theme as you see fit. The Roxy will be filled with projectors, lights, and screens to work with.

We are looking for all kinds of inter-disciplinary works:

• Video pieces to be projected on alternative surfaces
• Interactive art installations using light and sound
• Performance works on a stage or in a storage roomDance & movement artists creating shadow performances
• Collaborations between musicians, poets, projection artists, actors, and scientists

Include a short project pitch or description, tech requirements, sketches/images/video if applicable, and an artist bio or CV. Submissions are open until the lineup is filled, so get at us soon to secure your spot!
