The Nextfest Arts Company is excited to announce that we will be producing two new works at the 2023 Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival. Both of these shows were a part of Nextfest 2023, and are taking the experience and mentorship they have recieved and bringing it back to the Roxy Theatre from August 17-27, 2023.

These two show are SHE/THEY written by Madi May and What Was Is All written by Jacquelin Walters and Michael Watt.

Learn more about these works below:

SHE/ THEY

Venue 29: Lorne Cardinal Theatre

Famed feminist author Agnes Arnold has been cancelled and doxed for a transphobic Twitter rant. Pearl has no time to process their breakup because Agnes, their grandmother, is moving in. They launch into a debate about feminism and gender, and soon both confront truths that they aren’t ready to admit.

This is a 60 minute performance.

What Was Is AlL

Venue 28: Nancy Power Theatre

This folk/rock musical centres around the remnants- material and immaterial- and the residents- living and dead- of a small town. The struggle is one of purposefulness, willfulness, and helplessness. All wanderers are welcome.

This is a 90 minute performance.
