Stephanie Mitro is a dancer from Toronto, Ontario with a focus in contemporary, ballet, jazz, modern, tap, acrobatics and hip hop dance. She has been dancing since the age of three, competing around Canada and the United States. She graduated from Ryerson University with a BFA degree in Theatre Performance Dance in 2008, completed the Professional program at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks in 2009 and performed events for dance companies on the West and East Coast. As a choreographer, her work has been presented in Choreographic Works, 2006, 2007, 2008, New Voices 2008 (Ryerson University), Footprints (Decidedly Jazz Danceworks), Atlantic Fringe Festival, Maritime Performance Group, Robert Merritt Awards: Theatre Nova Scotia, Votive Dance, professional performance groups, competitive studios, workshops, schools and dance festivals across Canada. She is the co-founder of Votive Dance in Halifax, and has been performing in festivals across Canada with the company. She is happy to be a part of Edmonton’s Dancefest @ Nextfest for the 2015 season.
