Kelsey Vaughan is an emerging artist from the Edmonton area who has recently returned home after receiving her BFA in 2018 from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (NSCAD University).

Kelsey considers herself a figure painter who explores the formal qualities of layering images of the female form. These explorations create an abstract figure-ground relationship and challenge the viewer. Each figure is treated with personalized respect and approached while keeping in tune with the field of the entire painting. The women are approached as figures; however, the painting is approached as an abstract work.
