GECkoS bio

Performing in Nextfest 2014’s Dynamism NuMusic showcase, GECkoS is a duo featuring percussionist Greg Samek and saxophonist Evan Cribb. Born in 2013 at the Banff Centre for the Arts, GECkoS draws their influences from a wide range of music- from 20th century classical music and free improvisation to funk and pop. 2014 began with the pair returning to the Banff Centre to record their first two EPs, and has continued with the creation of the Street Sessions project – a series of live recordings taken on the streets of Calgary.
